Carla Gerl

Mrs. Carla Gerl

This is my 10th year at Evangelical Christian School.  I have been married for 25 years.  My olderst son is engaged to be married next year. My youngest son and his wife are expecting their first baby boy, Jacen Milton.  My husband and sons are Evangelical Christian School Alumni.   It is my desire to educate and influence the students that  are placed in my classroom.  I believe that as an educator I have the ability to impact the lives of children, their families, and the community in which I serve.  I believe that children are individuals that need to be understood and educated in a manner that best suits their learning style.  As their instructor, I will endeavor to educate the class using a variety of methods in order to meet the needs of the individual. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from Florida Gulf Coast University.

Goals

My class goals are to guide the students in learning the basic habits of school.  Our
class will begin to understand the alphabet and how the letters are put together for
information and communication purposes.  The class will also begin to understand
math concepts in arithmetic, geometry, and problem solving. Our class will learn
about the world they live in through hands-on experiences and explorations.  We
will explore topics like farm animals, sea animals, bugs, environment, care of our
bodies, community helpers, and many more adventures.  The class will be
presented with a variety of methods in order to achieve our learning objectives that
includes teacher instruction, child initiated task, and play time.  The K-4 class will be
setting the ground work for future classroom success.

Evangelical Christian School admits students of any race, color or ethnic origin and grants to them all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available to all students at the school.
