Community Service

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Evangelical Christian School aims to foster in its students a concern and willingness to help those in need both at school and within the community. Galatians 6:10 encourages, "As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men..." As a result, Community Service at ECS is a top priority in both the lower and upper divisions. The lower school is involved in various mission projects such as "Project Argentina-2004." ECS students collected school supplies and shipped them in a container for a mission Christian school in Argentina. In the upper school, community service is a part of the Bible class requirement. Students in grades 9-12 are required to spend 10 hours in community service each quarter. Students in grades 7-8 are required to spend 5 hours in community service each quarter. There have been groups of National Honor Society students that have taken part in Habitat for Humanity events, as well as providing gifts and meals for the less fortunate at Christmas time.
