Eileen Harvey

I’m from the Windy City of Chicago.  I graduated from Marquette University
in Milwaukee,  Wisconsin with a major in English and a minor in Secondary Education.  I am FACCS certified and Florida certified in grades 1-12.
My husband, Tom and I lived in Overland Park, Kansas for several years before moving to Fort Myers.  We have two children, both of whom have graduated from ECS.  My hobbies include nature hikes and baking.  If I’m not baking for friends and family,  I’m supplying the neighborhood dogs with homemade treats!
The Lord has blessed me in so many ways.  Teaching at ECS for the past twenty-two  years is just one of them.   I look forward to another wonderful year in Second Grade!

Goals for my Class

Phonics anyone? What an exciting year we have ahead of us!  Second graders will be learning multiplication & division in Math.  We will be perfecting our cursive writing by keeping a journal.  The children will be working on Health and History projects to help them grow both academically and spiritually.

Our class will be going on two field trips this year.  In class we will be celebrating Johnny Appleseed’s birthday, Teddy Bear Days, Christmas around the world,  and a good ole fashioned snow day!  Start looking for the mittens!

I would like to challenge all of my students to start the year off with a bang!  Keep on top of homework and prepare ahead of time for quizzes and tests.  Also I would like to encourage friendships.  Make new friends and keep the old. Returning students, please reach out to new students.  Remember you were new once too!  And new students, please remember that we are your school family.  Hats off to Second Grade!
