It is an honor and privilege to be a third grade teacher here at
Evangelical Christian School. There is no doubt that God has placed
me at this school for a particular purpose. I have a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in History from Glassboro State College in New Jersey. I also
received my teaching certification from Washington College in
Maryland. I began my teaching career in the public schools.
I taught high school history, geography and sociology my first year. I
moved on to the middle school for four years teaching seventh grade social
studies. In 2001, my family, husband Dan and two children Dannie and
Kirsten (11th Grade ECS this year), felt led to move to Cape Coral,
Florida, to be closer to my husband's aging parents who both were in poor
health. I first applied for a teaching position in the public schools
because that is where I had taught before. God later made it very obvious
to me that I was to teach here at Evangelical Christian School. I was
raised in a Christian home and was saved at age ten but never had
considered teaching at a Christian school before. I was hired as a third
grade teacher and am now beginning my seventh year here at ECS! My husband
and I became grandparents last year and look forward to our grandson
attending ECS in the future. God has truly blessed my family and I by
leading us to this school.
Get Ready For Some Upcoming, Exciting Events!
This year in third grade we will conduct many hands-on experiments in
science. We will enjoy visiting the zoo in order to experience first
hand what we have learned in the classroom. In language, each
student has the opportunity to read a book about a historical figure,
write a book report, dress up like that person or build a display
depicting an event from that person's life. I can't wait to see what
each student will do for their report! Be looking for some pictures
of animals for our science notebook. There are a lot of colorful
pictures for you to choose from. This will be a fun and challenging
year in third grade!
